Thursday, I headed up to Cape Cod for the Woods Hole Film Festival–my first feature film Atom Age Vampire was an official selection at this year’s festival. This was AAV’s first film festival screening!
The screening itself was in Lillie Auditorium (pictured), an old-school-style lecture hall in the Marine Biology Laboratories (there is a LOT of oceanography going on in this tiny town). I think we had about 50 people or so at the screening, and had a nice Q&A afterwards, with a couple of fellow New Yorkers in the house. AAV was paired with a pretty nifty live-action short, Charlie Anderson’s Werewolf Trouble–check it out if you get a chance.
I had to come home Friday; sadly, I’m missing tonight’s Awards Ceremony and party. While Atom Age Vampire is in competition, I’m up against some crazy good stuff, including a documentary about Wavy Gravy and a documentary about mental illness directed by actor Joey Pantoliano (The Matrix, The Sopranos) (who I saw on the street, waiting with everybody else for Woods Hole’s ridiculously cute, tiny drawbridge to do its thing).
And but so I just wanted to thank everybody at the Woods Hole Film Festival for being totally awesome. Thank you! I hope there are more film festivals in Atom Age Vampire’s future.
